Roy Cummings from the Tampa Tribune joined Mark Cook tonight to talk about some of the latest Bucs news heading into the first game of the regular season against the New York Jets.
Every team heading into the start of the season has questions they need to answer, and the Bucs are no different. Some of the pressing questions include, can they stop the run as effective as they did last year? Can Doug Martin repeat his rookie season? And of course, can Josh Freeman be the guy to take this team to the next level.
One question that Roy pointed out was if Davin Joseph and Carl Nicks can be in the same lineup together, and Roy has his doubts following the MRSA incident that scared the Bucs, and their players.
Roy also once again put to rest that Mike Glennon will not be seeing the field for the Bucs unless something major happened to Josh, or the team has fallen apart.
Mark and Roy also talked about what the defense needs to improve on, and Roy says that although some would say they have been built from back to front, that the front 7 of this team has already been established with guys like McCoy, Clayborn, and Bowers.
