Woman Attacks Deputies Checking On Her

RIVERVIEW, Fla. (AP) — A Hillsborough County woman who threatened deputies who had gone to her home to check on her remains in jail on charges of assaulting a law enforcement officer.

Jail records show 50-year-old Tracy Lynn Hawley was arrested early Sunday. Bond is set at $26,500. The charges include aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer, battery on a law enforcement officer and obstructing or opposing an officer with violence.

The Tampa Tribune reports deputies went to her Riverview home to perform a welfare check.

The arrest report says Hawley locked herself inside the bathroom and threatened deputies with a knife. Hawley then sprayed a household cleaner at them, cut a deputy on the finger with the knife and kicked another one.
