(AUDIO) Kevin Kennedy: Moving Hellickson Was a Good Thing

Kevin Kennedy 8-28

Every Wednesday our skipper Kevin Kennedy joins Booger and Rich to talk about the Tampa Bay Rays and everything else going on in baseball.

Kennedy talked about the move by the Rays sending Jeremy Hellickson to Single-A Charlotte and said he liked the move by Maddon.

Kennedy said that Hellickson’s stuff looks fine, but his mechanics look off. The bullpen session in Charlotte should help with that and Kennedy said that it’s not a demotion but a smart move to get the former Rookie of the Year back to form.

The Rays likely explained the whole situation to Hellickson Kennedy said and Joe Maddon probably presented him the numbers and reasons why he was being sent to Charlotte and it wasn’t a sign that the Rays are giving up on him.
