(AUDIO) Hellickson Demotion Strictly A Book Keeping Move

From Grantland, and the author of the Extra 2%, Jonah Keri joined Jeff Zito to discuss his thoughts on the move of Jeremy Hellickson, the Rays, and other big story lines throughout the MLB.

Jonah started out by discussing his thoughts on Jeremy Hellickson being sent to Class A Charlotte to collect his thoughts. Jonah pointed out that the move perhaps was made to add a piece to the bullpen because of Hellickson’s inability to go long in games.

Jeff asked Jonah about just hoe the Rays continue to have a lot of success with such limited resources, and Jonah pointed out the synergy between the Rays front office all the way from the owner to the manager Joe Maddon.

Although he has struggled of late, Wil Myers seems to be the leading candidate for the AL rookie of the year, simply due to how little competition Myers has in the AL compared to the loaded rookie class in the National League.

Finally, we break down the unreal talent that is, Miggy Cabrera.
