Police: Man Threatens To Kill Wife Over Cat Litter

PALM COAST, Fla. (AP) — A Central Florida man is facing an assault charge after allegedly threatening to kill his wife over dirty cat litter.

The Daytona Beach News-Journal reports that police arrested Avelino Urbano Garon after an argument with his wife turned violent.

Authorities say the couple had been arguing over whose responsibility it was to change the cat litter when Garon threatened to throw their cat against the wall. He then picked up a knife and threatened to kill his wife, police say.

Deputies say the 59-year-old Garon told them he believes a wife is responsible for cleaning the litter box. He was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and later released on $1,000 bond.
