Police: Man Tried To Kill 9-Year-Old Girl In Store Bathroom

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — A Northeast Florida man faces an attempted murder charge after allegedly beating a 9-year-old girl in a Best Buy restroom.

Jacksonville area TV station First Coast News (http://fcnews.tv/17bEkmv ) reports that police have arrested 29-year-old James Patrick Tadros in the assault.

Authorities say Tadros lured the girl into the women’s bathroom of a Jacksonville Best Buy Friday night. Police say he then punched and kicked her and put a plastic bag over her head while holding her down in the toilet.

A customer heard the girl’s screams, entered the restroom and helped stop the attack.

The girl is being treated at University of Florida Health hospital. Police say Tadros did not know the young girl. Authorities described the attack as an isolated random incident.
