Police Officer Delivers Baby At School

MIRAMAR, Fla. (AP) — A South Florida police officer is being congratulated for making a special delivery.

A pregnant woman arrived at Fairway Elementary to pick up her daughter from school Thursday when she began having contractions. Miramar Police School Resource Officer Natasha Richardson stepped in as the contractions intensified and delivered the baby girl at the school.

The newborn, Maybelle Colin Sainvilus, and her mother were transported to the hospital and are doing well.
