Cops: Boy Helps Couple Steal Items From Hooters, Surf Shop

CLEARWATER, Fla. (AP) — Police say a man and woman used a boy around 10 years old to help them in thefts at Ron Jon Surf Shop and Hooters restaurant in Clearwater.

The trio was captured on video Sunday evening stowing the items in a baby stroller.

According to officers, the man and woman hit the surf shop earlier in the evening. Then, they went to Hooters, where the boy was seen on surveillance video taking purses from a back room and putting them in the stroller.

On Sunday night, a debit card from one of the stolen purses was used at Target in Clearwater Mall.

Anyone with information is asked to call Clearwater police.
