Police: Possible Bomb Turned Out To Be ‘Adult Novelty Item’
JENSEN BEACH, Fla. (CBS Tampa) — What was at first thought to possibly be a bomb turned out to be what authorities referred to as an “adult novelty item.”
According to the Treasure Coast Palm, a local woman called the Martin County Sheriff’s Office on July 31 in relation to a “suspicious package” she had received one day prior.
The package consisted of a manila envelope inside of a second Priority Mail envelope from the United States Postal Service. An incident report obtained by the blog stated that the woman was listed as both the sender and recipient of the package.
Deputies with the sheriff’s office called in a bomb technician, who soon determined that the contents of the package were more lascivious than incendiary.
“It was a pink plastic adult novelty item, with some type of a plastic rabbit attached to it,” a spokesperson for the sheriff told the Treasure Coast Palm. “The recipient says she did not order it.”
Though the recipient of the package had suspicions as to who had sent the toy to her and her husband, no arrests were made.
