Police: Man Covered Child’s Bruises With Fake Tattoos

DELAND, Fla. (CBS Tampa) – Local authorities recently arrested a man accused of abusing a child and covering up the physical evidence by putting temporary tattoos over the bruises.

According to CBS affiliate WKMG-TV, 25-year-old Kelsey Turner had been abusing an unnamed 5-year-old boy, then covering bruises on his midsection with the fake body art.

It wasn’t until a teacher noticed his injuries and alerted authorities that the abuse was discovered,  leading to an investigation by local police that has been ongoing since April, the station additionally learned.

Upon examining the boy, doctors found that Turner’s abuse also caused mild internal bleeding.

On Friday, the DeLand resident was arrested and charged with aggravated child abuse. He is additionally facing charges for other crimes, including dealing in stolen property, WKMG reported.
