Buccaneers Preseason Opener Against Ravens Blacked Out

With much anticipation for the upcoming Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ season, the first preseason game against the defending super bowl champion Baltimore Ravens will be blacked out Thursday night.

The team failed to sell 85% of non-premium seats before the NFL’s deadline of 72 hours before the opening kickoff.

NFL rules state that all games, whether regular season or preseason must have a certain number of non-premium seats sold to prevent these blackouts, despite most starters not even playing in these preseason games.

The game will be shown in tape delay on WFLA-TV Friday night at 7:30 and again Saturday morning at 10:00am on the NFL Network.

The Buccaneers next home game will also be their last preseason game on August 29 at 7:30pm against the Washington Redskins. With starters unlikely to play much in this game, anticipations are that this game will also be blacked out locally.
