Volusia Co. Man Charged In Girlfriend’s Killing

ORLANOD, Fla. (AP) — A Volusia County man accused of killing his girlfriend and dumping her body is being held on a homicide charge in another county.

Orange County Jail records show 20-year-old Khambrel Hadley was being held Saturday on homicide and car theft charges. It’s not known if he has an attorney.

Hadley’s mother told Orlando police on Friday that he admitted to killing his girlfriend. Orlando police then contacted detectives in DeLand — about 40 miles away. Police say evidence found at Hadley’s home corroborated the information Hadley’s mother had given them.

Police say a body found in the area is believed to be the girlfriend. Hadley was arrested in Orlando where he’s also charged with resisting an officer without violence.

The investigation continues.
