Just days before their training camp opens, the Buccaneers have been one of the most active teams in the NFL.
After Connor Barth tore his Achilles in a charity basketball game, the team immediately signed Lawrence Tynes as his replacement.
Eric Wright was traded to the 49ers, failed his physical, came back to the Bucs, and was then immediately released all within five days.
Now the Buccaneers might be looking to bolster their running back corps.
According to multiple reports, Peyton Hillis will be working out with the Buccaneers Tuesday at One Buc Place.
Hillis spent the 2012 season with the Kansas City Chiefs where he only had 85 carries for 309 yards and just one touchdown.
Hillis’ best season came in 2010 with the Cleveland Browns rushing for nearly 1,200 yards, averaging 4.5 yards per carry, and totaling 11 touchdowns.
With his bruising running style, Hillis, who wears the number 40, tends to remind fans of a young Mike Alstott.
Do you think the Buccaneers could use a young Mike Alstott?
UPDATE: The Buccaneers are also trying out tight end Visanthe Shiancoe today.
