(AUDIO) Ira Kaufman: The Bucs Were Likely Upset with Connor Barth

Tampa Bay Buccaneers kicker Connor Barth injured his Achilles tendon during a charity basketball game and is reportedly out for the season. The Bucs signed former Giants kicker Lawrence Tynes to replace Barth.

Bucs beat writer for the Tampa Tribune Ira Kaufman joined Booger and Rich to talk about the impact of Barth’s injury. Kaufman said that this is a setback on the eve of training camp and that Connor Barth was one of the best kickers in the NFL and Lawrence Tynes is a downgrade.

Kaufman said that it’s likely that the Buccaneers are upset behind closed doors with Barth for playing in the charity basketball game so close to the start of training camp. Despite the injury, Kaufman said that Barth will get all of the money on his contract and the Bucs will be protected by some insurance.
