Rays’ Matt Moore Named To AL All-Star Team

Just moments after the Tampa Bay Rays finished off a three-game sweep of the Minnesota Twins with a 4-3 victory, their eighth in a row, it was reported by Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times that Rays pitcher Matt Moore was named to the American League’s All-Star Roster.

The 24-year-old Moore was named as an injury replacement for Texas’ Yu Darvish, who was placed on the disabled list. It will be Moore’s first appearance in the All-Star Game, as he joins teammate Ben Zobrist for next Tuesday’s game, which will be played at Citi Field in New York.
