Tampa Bay is mostly known for it’s beaches and sports teams. However, it’s quickly gaining a reputation for it’s growing number of microbreweries and brewpubs. Here’s our list of the best brewpubs in Tampa Bay.
Tampa Bay Brewing Company
1600 E. 9th Ave.
Ybor City (Tampa), FL 33605
TBBC is Ybor City’s only microbrewery, but it’s far more than just beer. The menu includes plenty of sports-fan approved foods, like burgers, wings and pizza. There are also numerous foods for the more sophisticated foodie, such as goat cheese pomace, calamari balsamico, Asian salmon salad and shrimp alfredo. If you’re really going for the beer, you won’t be disappointed. One of the award-winning brews includes the Iron Rat Imperial Stout, a full-bodied beer with overtones of coffee, roast and chocolate balanced out with 80 IBUs of Northern Brewer Hops.
Cigar City Brewpub
15491 North Dale Mabry Hwy
Tampa, FL 33618
This Carrollwood brewpub makes great beer and food. Cigar City Brewpub’s Tocobaga Red Ale won Grand Champion at the 2012 United States Beer Tasting Championship. The stainless steel fermentation tanks sit behind a glass wall, so you can watch the Beermesiters working their magic as you taste the beer and eat. The food is Tampa-Style Cuban and wins high marks from most critics. They have 11 of their own brews on tap with 3 or 4 guest taps. Their drafts range in price from $5 – $7 for a pint.
