His recent comments about revenue sharing and the ever-present stadium issue has left many to wonder if baseball will work for Tampa Bay in the end or not. Sternberg was quoted in a Fox Sports interview as saying chances were “very unrealistic” that the Rays would leave the bay area.

After winning the pennant in 2008, casual observers around the league thought attendance would no longer be an issue – especially as the team stayed competitive, but the crowds have been dwindling. The Trop is getting older, and Sternberg, to his credit, is not operating at a loss. His team is competing pretty well in the toughest division in all of major league baseball, but the payroll is among the smallest in the big leagues.

Now Sternberg is out in the media again kicking up dust on the issue – when he says he doesn’t like to talk about it during the the season… So, we’re left with the question: Do you trust Stu?
