Police: Man Battered Woman While Posing As Cop

CLEARWATER, Fla. (AP) — Clearwater police are searching for a man who sexually battered a woman while posing as a law enforcement officer.

Detectives say the 35-year-old woman was approached by a man in a newer, red, two-door truck Saturday about 2 a.m.

He showed the woman a badge and had handcuffs hanging from the rearview mirror.

Police report the woman got in the truck after he told her she was in trouble. He then allegedly groped her.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Clearwater police at 727-562-4242.
