Pens Hoping To Bounce Back In Game 3

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The Pittsburgh Penguins’ path to the Stanley Cup Finals just got much more difficult after a 6-1 loss in Game 2 Monday night.

The Bruins jumped out to an early 3-0 lead, which resulted in Tomas Vokoun being replaced by Marc-Andre Fleury.

Brandon Sutter got the Penguins on the board with 34 seconds remaining in the first period, but any momentum gained was quickly erased when Brad Marchand scored his second goal of the period with eight seconds left.

When Marchand scored at the end of the period, fans knew the Penguins were in trouble.

Vokoun allowed three goals on 12 shots, while Fleury allowed three goals on 17 shots.

However, more concerning is that the Penguins have only scored one goal through the first two games of the series.

But, there’s still hope and the Pens hope to get things turned around when the series shifts to Boston for Game 3 on Wednesday.

“We have to forget about those two games. We know we got the result that we deserved, actually. We have to turn the page and make sure we play the right way,” Kris Letang said.

“This team has won a lot of hockey games. It’s a good team. We have won 15 in a row and we won seven in a row and five in a row. And we certainly didn’t play anywhere near where we are capable of. And that’s got to be our focus to get our first win in Game 3 in Boston,” head coach Dan Bylsma said.

There is no word yet on who will be the starting goalie Wednesday night.
