500 Pounds Of Lychee Fruit Stolen From Florida Grove

BOKEELIA, Fla. (AP) — Authorities are investigating after they say someone stole 500 pounds of lychee fruit from a southwest Florida grove.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office says the victim last checked on her fruit grove on Friday.

The News-Press reports she thinks the suspect broke into the locked grove through a hole in the fence.

She estimated about 8,000 pieces fruit were taken, which she says costs about $3,000.
