Rays Suspend Prospect Indefinitely After He Admits Throwing Change At A Stripper

TAMPA (CBS Tampa) — The Tampa Bay Rays have indefinitely suspended a former first-round pick after an incident at a strip club.

The Tampa Bay Times reports the Rays made the move after Josh Sale admitted on his Facebook page that he was kicked out of a strip club for insulting one of the strippers.

“Threw 50 cents at a stripper tonight. First time. Got kicked out and she got so [upset] thought she was gonna [sic] cry……your [sic] a stripper. Be thankful,” Sale posted.

This incident comes after the 21-year-old was suspended 50 games for testing positive for methamphetamine and an amphetamine. He was about to be activated for the Rays Single-A club in Charlotte.

Sale has compiled a .238 average, 14 home runs and 59 RBI over two minor league seasons since being drafted No. 17 overall in the 2010 draft.
