(POLL) David Price’s Allergic Reaction

We haven’t seen the David Price we’ve grown accustomed to on the mound for the Rays this season. The staff ace has a 1-3 record and a 4.78 ERA.

Price spoke on Tuesday and provided some explanation as to why he’s been having some difficulties. He has a severe allergy problem that he’s been dealing with. And the condition has been so bad that it’s even affected his vision. And his allergies have flared up because the Rays switched laundry detergents, so Price could be allergic to those chemicals.

“I would never say yes, but I can’t see,” Price said. “There’s been many times this year when I’ve had to step off the mound ’cause I can’t see the signs. All the trainers know I couldn’t see. My vision was extremely blurry at times.”

Price’s clothes are all washed separately now, and we’ll see if the discovery of this problem helps as he takes on the Boston Red Sox tonight.
