Deng Out, Hinrich Doubtful For Game 2

(CBS) For the depleted Bulls, this is nothing new.

Luol Deng has been ruled out and Kirk Hinrich is doubtful for tonight’s Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals against the Heat in Miami.

Deng, who didn’t make the trip to Miami, continues to suffer from complications from a spinal tap, and Hinrich is still working to recover from a severely bruised calf muscle.

“Kirk has a ways to go,” head coach Tom Thibodeau told the Tribune on Wednesday morning.

“The swelling is done, which is good. He tried the last game in the Brooklyn series and he wasn’t quite there. We’ll have to wait and see. Hopefully he continues to improve.”

Thibodeau characterized Deng’s status as “day-to-day.”
