Police: Man Beats Boss’s Dog To Death With Tire Iron

SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. (CBS Tampa) – A man is accused of beating his boss’s dog to death with a tire iron.

The Tampa Tribune reports that the Sarasota County Sheriff’s department arrested 25-year-old Kevin Koscielniak in the incident.

The paper reports that police were responding to a call that the owner of John’s Automotive made when he believed his 4-year-old dog Ashton was missing.

A surveillance video shows a man beating his dog to death.

Police were able to determine the man was Koscielniak, according to the Tribune. Koscielniak was asked to leave his place of employment on Saturday after he caused a disturbance.

Police say that Koscielniak climbed over a barbed-wire fence, beat the dog with a tire iron, then wrapped it in a blanket before burying it in a nearby business’s property.

The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office helped with the arrest.

Koscielniak was booked into the Sarasota County jail and is currently being held on bond for $7,620.
