Police: School Employee Used Pen Cam To Spy On Young Girls In Bathroom

MULBERRY, Fla. (CBS Tampa) – A local man was arrested Wednesday after reportedly using a pen camera to tape young females changing in a bathroom.

According to a press release released by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, Dewey Norris reportedly placed the camera – designed to look like a regular pen – in a bathroom before four female victims undressed in the room.

The victims were reportedly between the ages of 14 and 19.

In all, Norris, a 51-year-old air-conditioning mechanic employed by the Hillsborough County School Board, was said to be in possession of 53 separate videos of the naked girls, which were put onto seven DVDs. The evidence was allegedly discovered and reported by one of the suspect’s friends.

“Post-Miranda, Norris admitted to placing the hidden camera into the bathroom prior to each girl going in, and then retrieving it afterwards, and viewing the videos for his own sexual gratification,” the release noted. “Norris’ face can be seen in the videos while he placed the camera in the bathroom.”

When interviewed by police, the victims said they did not know they were being taped at the time.

Norris is now facing multiple charges, including four counts of four counts of video voyeurism of a child under age 16, 49 counts of video voyeurism of a child older than age 16, and one count of destroying evidence.
