Buccaneers Sign Former USF Standout George Selvie

According to Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will sign former USF standout DE George Selvie to a contract on Tuesday.

Selvie, 26, will be joining his 4th team and is entering his 4th season in the NFL.  Selvie has 42 career tackles and just 3 sacks in 3 NFL seasons.

He has spent the last year and a half in Jacksonville, but has also played for the Carolina Panthers and St. Louis Rams.

Selvie, USF’s only 2-time All-American, ended his collegiate career with 29.5 sacks and nearly 70 tackles for a loss.

George Selvie has never started an NFL game, and I wouldn’t expect him to with the Bucs.  Selvie will be battling for a roster spot this August during training camp.
