NAPLES, Fla. (CBS Tampa) - A man was arrested and is multiple facing charges after he reportedly flooded three entire floors of a local Hampton Inn while under the influence.

The incident occurred Thursday evening at a local Hampton Inn, according to CBS affiliate WINK News.

In all, 22 rooms in the Naples hotel were damaged by the actions of Thomas Flipse, 28 of Jacksonville. The damage was caused when he broke the on/off valves to water pipes located behind his room’s shower.

According to reports, some guests were left standing in as much as one inch of water.

When authorities arrived on the scene to mediate the situation, they found Flipse yelling and swearing in his room. When he refused to cooperate with police, he was handcuffed and removed from the premises on a stretcher. He reportedly continued to yell the entire time.

Witnesses told police that Flipse was drunk, a theory supported by the alcohol and marijuana found in his room, the station learned.

The broken shower was also discovered upon a search of the room, and the water was subsequently shut off.

Still, the damage was done – over $100,000 worth of damage to the guest rooms and a set of new linens being stored in the laundry facilities.

WINK News is reporting that Flipse now faces charges of criminal mischief and disturbing the peace.
