(AUDIO) Michael Bennett Says Buccaneers Can Match “Any Offer”

By: Justin Pawlowski

Former Bucs defensive lineman Michael Bennett joined Gary Shelton and Justin Pawlowski on the eve of free agency.  Bennett said that 8 teams have already been in touch with his agent.

Bennett also talked about the conversations he has had with Tampa Bay leading up to free agency.

When asked by Justin Pawlowski if the Buccaneers get a chance t match any offer he gets on the open market, Bennett said, “Yeah, I’ll give the Bucs a chance to match any offer that I get.”

“Obviously, I started here with the Bucs,” Bennett said. “I’d love to finish here.”

Bennett also spoke about the issues with the Buccaneers pass defense in 2012 and Ronde Barber’s impact on the defense.

UPDATE: Apparently, Michael Bennett did not mean what he said when he said the Bucs could mach any offer he received.  Profootballtalk.com is reporting that Bennett will not give the Bucs a chance to match any offer. Huh?  You be the judge and listen below. Sounds like an agent doing spin control.
