Lauren Silberman’s kicking performance was all hype and no height (or distance). She became the first female participant to compete in an NFL regional scouting combine, but she came up short in her tryout.
Of Silberman’s two tryout kicks (both kickoffs), only one went passed the midfield line. She claims her quad was bothering her. Katie Hnida, who kicked in Arena football, said of Silberman, “”Her performance does not have to do with her gender. It has to do with her experience and her preparation. Unfortunately, what’s going to happen now is she’s going to be looked at because she was female. But she was terrible.”
Is Hnida just hating? Why is she being so tough on a fellow female kicker? Or is her critique on target?
