How would you feel about realignment in the NHL? Here’s the proposed plan: the NHL would go from six divisions to four, and it would implement divisional playoffs and wild-card spots.

The NHL Players’ Association hasn’t yet approved the plan, nor has the NHL’s Board of Governors, but if all parties approve, we could see these changes take effect next season.

How would/will the Bolts be affected? Currently, they’re in the Southeast Division with Florida, Winnipeg, Carolina, and Washington.

Under realignment, Tampa Bay would move to the Central division along with Boston, Buffalo, Detroit, Florida, Montreal, Ottawa, and Toronto.
