Police: Man Attacks Car With Machete After Catching Cheating Wife Inside

PALM BAY, Fla. (CBS Tampa) — A local man was arrested after he attacked a car with a machete when he caught his wife cheating on him inside of it.

CBS affiliate WKMG-TV reports that 44-year-old Christopher G. Mordecai was furious after finding his wife inside of the vehicle with another man.

According to a police report obtained by the station, the jilted husband responded by retrieving a machete from his home and bringing it back to the scene of the crime.

Mordecai then reportedly hit the car with the machete, showering his wife with shards of glass after breaking a window. The glass left his wife with minor cuts.

Though she was injured, his wife did not want to press charges, WKMG learned.

However, local authorities arrested Mordecai and charged him with aggravated battery, a second-degree felony. He was subsequently taken to Brevard County Jail.

The machete found at the scene of the attack was taken by police as evidence.
