JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — A man is being held in a Duval County jail on a manslaughter charge in connection with the death of a 19-year-old who was beaten at a party.
Jail records show 25-year-old Christopher Hoffman is being held without bail. It was not immediately known if he has an attorney.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office says 19-year-old Ryan Scott Ford was with a large group early Saturday at a bonfire party when several fights broke out.
The Florida Times-Union reports officers responded to reports of an injured person who had been taken to the hospital. Witnesses said Ford became unconscious after being punched several times. He died a short time later.
