The USF women’s basketball team nearly ended Villanova’s three-game conference winning streak, but three Wildcats’ free throws with 0.3 left on the clock broke a 49-49 tie, sending Villanova to the 52-49 win. The Bulls led 23-22 at halftime, losing after leading at the half for just the second time this season
Andrell Smith led the way for USF with 20 points and nine rebounds, and Andrea Smith scored ten – all in the second half. Alisia Jenkins grabbed nine rebounds and contributed nine points, just missing a double-double
USF is now 12-5 overall, and 1-3 in the BIG EAST. The Bulls travel to South Orange, N.J. to play Seton Hall Tuesday, in the second half of their road trip.
