ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) — A St. Petersburg Police officer has shot an aggressive German Shepard after it attacked someone.
Authorities said a neighbor saw the dog biting someone Saturday and called police. Another neighbor helped the victim get away.
Officers tried to subdue the dog and take it back to its yard, but the animal kept charging one of the officers.
Authorities said one of the officers shot the German Shepard. The dog was taken to an animal hospital and is expected to survive.
The dog’s owner has been notified.
