Lightning Begin Preparation Of Ice For Upcoming NHL Season

TAMPA BAY – The Tampa Bay Lightning and the Tampa Bay Times Forum will begin painting the ice for the upcoming NHL season today, January 8, the team announced. The ice will begin being painted approximately between 1-2 p.m.

The Times Forum staff began by laying down a base coat of ice this morning. Then they will start painting it a base white color. Following that they will begin painting all the hockey markings, after that they will put down a final layer of ice.

Approximate Ice Installation Schedule:
1 p.m. – Painting base white
3 p.m. – Painting hockey markings
