Two Men Arrested For Drive-By Shooting Of A Deer

DARBY, Fla. (CBS Tampa) – The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office arrested two men who reportedly participated in the drive-by shooting of a deer.

The Tampa Bay Times is reporting that the incident began when 51-year-old Michael McCord and his passenger, 54-year-old Charles Jones, pulled over on State Road 52 Saturday night, at which point the two men spotted the deer.

According to responding authorities, Jones took out his rifle and shot the deer dead before the duo sped away from the scene.

Sheriff deputies additionally told the paper that Jones then threw the rifle out the car window a few miles away from where they shot the deer.

Police eventually caught up with the two men, however, and arrested them.

Jones was charged with illegal possession of wildlife and released on his own recognizance. McCord was charged with discharging a firearm in public and illegal possession of wildlife. He was released on $2,500 bond, the Times learned.
