ORLANDO (CBS Tampa) — Three hand grenades were found in Downtown Disney Wednesday evening.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office told the Orlando Sentinel that a janitor found the grenades in a trash can in the complex’s parking lot.
The grenades appeared to have been used for some type of training, sheriff’s spokesman Jeff Williamson told WOFL-TV.
The grenades were hollowed-out and posed no danger to the public.
“There was minimal disruption to guests,” Disney spokeswoman Kathleen Prihoda told the Sentinel.
Investigators are still trying to determine how the grenades ended up in the Downtown Disney trash can.
