DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Three young adults are in extremely critical condition after being pulled from a car that was submerged in a Broward County lake.
Broward County Department of Fire Rescue spokesman Mike Jachles said late Wednesday that officials were called to the scene of a crash about 10:30 p.m. at a lake near Interstate Highway 95. Jachles said police and divers searched the area and pulled two women and one man from the water. He estimated that the victims were in their early 20s.
Jachles said all three victims were transported to area hospitals. He said one of the women was in cardiac arrest but was resuscitated by rescuers before being transported to the hospital.
Florida Highway Patrol was also at the scene. It was not immediately clear what caused the crash.
