BRADENTON, Fla. (AP) — A school bus driver was cited after authorities say he collided with a fire truck in Manatee County.
The Florida Highway Patrol reports that 73-year-old James McKinney was carrying 47 passengers Tuesday afternoon. A fire truck responding to a vehicle fire with its lights and sirens activated was passing through an intersection, but troopers say McKinney failed to see the truck and hit it.
Two passengers from the school bus were taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.
McKinney was charged with failing to yield to an emergency vehicle.
