ORLANDO, Fla. (CBS Tampa) – George Zimmerman’s defense team has made a color photo available of their client with a bloody nose from the night he fatally shot Trayvon Martin.
According to the post on the defense team’s website, the picture was taken by a police officer following the shooting in Sanford this past February.
The neighborhood watch volunteer has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of the teenager, which set off protests nationwide. Zimmerman has pleaded not guilty, claiming self-defense.
The post also states that the defense team will be making all public documents related to the case available on their website.
The trial is set to begin in June.
A hearing may take place before the trial regarding “Stand Your Ground,” which is based on a state law that allows someone to use force when they feel that their life is threatened and they cannot retreat.
