FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) — The Florida Highway Patrol says a pig is responsible for causing a series of car accidents in Collier County and injuring nearly a dozen people.
An FHP report says 24-year-old Gabriela Resendiz struck a pig Saturday night that was in the middle of the road. Several other cars collided with her vehicle, injuring nearly a dozen other drivers and passengers. Resendiz was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Two others — including an infant — also received serious injuries.
The FHP report says the other injuries were minor. Charges were not immediately filed. FHP has not said where the pig came from.
