Thief Sends Postcard To Woman To Explain Why He Stole Obama Yard Signs

SARASOTA, Fla. (CBS Tampa) —  Local resident Jill Green was robbed of her President Barack Obama yard signs by a thief who left a postcard explaining his actions.

“I live around the corner from you and when I see signs that support Democrats I fear for the safety of our neighborhood,” the postcard stated, according to the Daily Caller.

Green reportedly does not know who stole the signs from her yard.

“As far as I know, no one else has received a postcard like this,” Green said to the Daily Caller. “It was scary and it was creepy, because the person says they lived around the corner from me.”

The thief also allegedly insulted Green’s liberal leanings in his explanation.

“The gangsters think it’s easy pickings because they already know that if a person votes Democrat they probably don’t have the sense to come in out of the rain, not to mention locking their doors or securing their valuables,” the postcard said, according to the website. “When thieves drive through Sapphire Shores scoping out possible targets and see pro-Democrat yard signs they automatically assume that the subdivision is filled with retards and half-wits.”

The Daily Caller learned that the thief identified himself as “Bat Masterson,” which is the nickname of American Old West gunfighter and formal United States marshal William Barclay Masterson.
