Roseanne Barr Reportedly Takes Over 7,000 Votes In Close Fla. Presidential Race

TAMPA (CBS Tampa) – Actress Roseanne Barr has reportedly garnered over 7,000 votes in a presidential race that is coming down to thousands of votes between President Barack Obama and Republican contender Mitt Romney.

“Roseanne Barr now has nearly 7,500 votes for prez [sic] in FL. Margin between Obama/Romney is 50,000 votes,” a tweet written by My Fox Tampa Bay stated.

According to CBS News, as of 11 p.m. Obama was leading Romney 50 percent to 49 percent in the state.

Though Florida has not yet been called as being won by either main candidate, Obama has been projected to win reelection by CBS News and other major news outlets.

Barr is running on the Peace and Freedom ticket, according to her official campaign website.

“The American people are sick and tired of this ‘lesser evil’ garbage they get fed every election year,” Barr was quoted as saying by her campaign website before the party’s convention vote. “Both the Democrats and the Republicans do the same evils once they’re in office – I’m here to tell the voters: if you want to tell the government and the two domineering parties that you’re sick and tired of all their evil, register in the Peace and Freedom Party and vote for me and Cindy.”

The issues of importance highlighted on the site include the legalization of marijuana, relations between Israel and Palestine, and equal rights.

She has chosen liberal Cindy Sheehan as her running mate, whom the website describes as ” a strong anti-war advocate known for leading a protest outside of George W. Bush‘s Texas ranch.”
