Bucs’ Carl Nicks Out For The Year

All pro left guard for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Carl Nicks, has been lost for the season after a nagging toe injury finally sidelined the offensive lineman.

Nicks hurt his toe in week 1 of the season and it had been a problem all year. The Buccaneers placed him on the injury list multiple times this season, but it seems the injury was re-aggravated either Thursday night or in a practice since and so the stalwart lineman was placed on injured reserve Tuesday.

The Tampa Tribune’s Roy Cummings joined Booger and Rich with the news. Hear what he had to say here:

The Bucs are left scrambling to fill another void on an already depleted offensive line. The most likely replacement will be Ted Larsen a guy the Bucs feel comfortable. Larsen has actually started at that position for the team before and was able to win games.

Rookie tight end Danny Noble was also added to IR due to a hamstring injury.

The Bucs promptly addressed one of the two open spots on the active roster, adding guard Roger Allen from the practice squad.
