Asher Monroe On Learning About Girls From Being In A Boy Band

At his first solo show in New York, Asher Monroe fans traveled far and wide to see the former V Factory member perform. At one point in the night he revealed that he used to live in New York having one fan scream out, “Where?!”

When he said that he lived in Midtown but is originally from Virginia another fan screamed out the block that he grew up on, no doubt alarming the singer.

So what has he learned about girls from being in a boy band?

“They like to scream really loudly. They can be intense,” he recently told CBS Local.

But he doesn’t seem to mind.

“I like the diehard fans. I love the people that will travel to all these different cities to follow you,” he confessed. “I’ll sometimes start a show with, ‘Where is the farthest person who came today?’ Somebody will be like, ‘I drove five, eight hours.’ It’s crazy to think there are people out there that are that dedicated and believe in you that much that they’ll go around the country following you around.”

Despite it all, Asher is immensely grateful for his fans.

“I would guess I have a very big girl fan base more so than probably guys,” he said. “But I think it’s great. They’re loyal fans.”

Currently promoting his single “Here With You” co-written with OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder, Asher’s diehard fan base continues to grow.
