Christmas has its carols, but Halloween? Well, it’s a little tougher to find songs dedicated strictly to the holiday.

But this year, instead of just playing the “Monster Mash” on repeat, we’ve come up with ten songs that would be the perfect addition to any spooky soiree and why they’ll help set the mood.

1. The B-52’s “Rock Lobster”
Because oversized crustaceans are always scary.

2. Screamin’ Jay Hawkins “I Put A Spell on You”
Because a lot of people have done this song, but none quite like Screamin’ Jay

3. Ray Parker, Jr. “Ghostbusters”
Because he lets you know who to call if things get out of hand

4. Talking Heads “Psycho Killer”
Because David Byrne can pull off a oversized suit

5. Backstreet Boys “Everybody”
Because Backstreet’s back, alright? 

6. Donovan “Season of the Witch”
Because there should be more than just four seasons.

7. Warren Zevon “Werewolves of London”
Because no party is complete without a little howling.

8. Michael Jackson “Thriller”
Because the King of Pop started the zombie craze.

9. Harry Belafonte “Jump in the Line”
Because this one will get every body up and dancing, hopefully the calypso.

10. Dead Man’s Bones “In The Room Where You Sleep”
Because you might not have heard of this band, but you surely heard of one of its members. Ryan Gosling shows off his crooning skills on the debut from his band Dead Man’s Bones with a little help from a spooky children’s choir. Every song off of the band’s 2009 album is perfect for a Halloween party, but this one about those monsters under your bed seems like the perfect addition to any playlist.
