The NHL announced the cancellation of some games today. Here’s the official press release:
NEW YORK (October 19, 2012) – The National Hockey League announced today the cancellation of the 2012-13 regular-season schedule through November 1. A total of 135 regular-season games were scheduled for Oct. 11 through Nov. 1.
The cancellation was necessary because of the absence of a Collective Bargaining Agreement between the NHL Players’ Association and the NHL.
Of the four scheduled Lightning games cancelled today, one was to be played at the Tampa Bay Times Forum while three were on the road.
The Lightning are offering Season Ticket Members multiple refund options through its Loyalty and Rewards Program. Season Ticket Members, as well as those with 21- and 10-game plans, can visit http://www.tampabaylightning.com/STM or call the Lightning service department at 813.301.6800 for more information. Fans who purchased single game tickets to any scheduled preseason games previously cancelled should contact their original point of purchase for refund information.
