Man Dies After Eating Roaches

Miami (AP) – A West Palm Beach man has died after entering a cockroach eating contest. Edward Archbold, 32, entered the contest to win a python at a local pet store. Archbold became ill shortly after the contest ended and collapsed outside of the pet store.

The Broward County Sheriff’s office is investigating the death and are awaiting toxicology results to determine the cause of the man’s demise. The pet store release a statement expressing their sadness. They’ve also pointed out that the roaches were raised domestically in a safe, controlled environment as food for reptiles.

Archbold signed a waiver releasing the pet store from any liability.
