Jacksonville – 28 year old Matthew Hinson was booked and charged with murder following an altercation in a local bar according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. Investigators say an Illinois man was in town to see the Bears battle the Jaguars, but he never made it to the game.
Early Sunday morning, according to reports, William Christopher Pettry (42) was involved in a disturbance inside a local pub. Witnesses say Pettry was confronted by two people and that the incident happened so quickly, not many people actually saw it happen. A few that did, rushed to offer assistance, but were too late to save the father and husband from Lake Vella, Illinois.
The incident has raised concerns about safety in the downtown Jacksonville area for tourists and locals alike.
