Big Bird Confronts Mitt Romney In St. Petersburg

Continuing the fallout from this week’s presidential debate between Mitt Romney and President Barack Obama, Big Bird will make an appearance at Pier Park in St. Petersburg. Mitt Romney scheduled the stop as part of his campaign and opposition to his assertion that he would ‘fire’ the puppet made famous by PBS’ “Sesame Street” is expected.

The republican nominee has targeted PBS as a part of the federal budget that could be cut to save revenue in an effort to stem federal spending and balance the budget. Romney’s critics say that the $400 million spent on PBS is a mere fraction of the subsidies the US government gives to other industries like oil and coal.
